SR-22 Insurance
You are ordered to get an SR-22 filing - What now?
If you get a DUI in California, the Department of Motor Vehicles may require you to get an SR-22 filing. This is a form that is added to your insurance policy in order to reinstate your driving privileges. When the filing is attached to the insurance policy, the DMV is electronically notified that it is activated. The DMV will also be notified if the policy is to cancel.
Relax. We've got you covered!
It is a common misconception that the SR-22 is the insurance itself, but rather it is an add-on that is available for a flat fee, which is charged every time the policy renews. Not all companies will offer the SR-22 filing. It may be necessary to write a policy with a company that does offer the filing.
